  • Brief Description: 
    In order to keep the club informed and providing prospective members a place to find out about Blacksburg Rotary, we publish weekly bulletins, news and events to all members. Our members use our Facebook page for frequent, timely updates and we use our website to manage everything from progress towards goals to upcoming event signup.

    We include all the committee chairs and directors in developing the content that represents the Blacksburg Rotary Club. Our goal is to reach all the members at the club as well as the public so they can learn what the Blacksburg Rotary Club is all about. By using multiple media formats – from print, newspaper to electronic, we aim to cover a wide age range and geography.
    By using the majority of the media available to us we are able to present a consistent presence of the Rotary Club of Blacksburg in the community and in the District. This is completed at a minimal cost.
  • Participation of Club Members: 
    100% - Our club members rely on the regular communication tools – especially the website and bulletin for what is going on and Facebook for pictures and more information of events that have passed. We have weekly participation by many members in the club, writing articles and news events for our media streams.
  • Resulting Benefits: 
    The results of having information on our club and its outreach consistently in the public eye has aided in the growth of our membership. This year we have added new members since July 1st. Additionally, publishing information on our awards and scholarship programs provides for cream-of-the-crop applications and nominations. The publicity has helped to educate our local youth on what Rotary is as a service organization and we hope it will plant a seed in their minds to seek out our organization for future membership.
