- Describe the Project, its location and its objectives: It has become known that many children who receive free or reduced cost lunch at school do not have adequate food at home. Many times the free school lunch is their only meal of the day. The Backpack Food Program provides these children a bag of nutritious food to carry home with them on the weekends. These children are students of Bedford Primary School or in the Head Start program.

- Describe how the project will benefit the community and/or improve the lives of the less fortunate: This project will provide nutritious food to many area children and their families that they may not otherwise have. This not only provides food for the children but can aide in their overall health and let them know that others in their community care about them and their families.
- Describe the Rotarian hands-on activities in the project (i.e. non-financial participation): Members of Bedford Rotary help unload the food supplies, separate the food and assist in filling the "backpack" food bags.
- Describe the publicity plan to inform the general public that this is a Rotary sponsored project: Photos and press releases of participating Rotary members have and will continue to be sent to the local paper, the Bedford Bulletin. Also the 11 other contributing organizations are made aware of the Bedford Rotary's financial and physical participation.
