  • Describe the Project, its location and its objectives: Rotarians understand the importance of our community’s youth. Guided by this understanding our club established a student recognition program with our local high school – the Clarke County High School. A program that recognizes achievements by high school seniors based upon their academic standing, community involvement – service about self and their extracurricular activities.

Teachers are given the opportunity to recommend a high school senior for this award and selected students will be given an application to fill out. A committee of four Rotarians will work with the school’s guidance department to set up interview dates with the students which will be held at the high school.

The committee will select twelve students and those twelve students along with their parents will be invited to attend a club’s weekly meeting. The student will become part of the program for the club meeting and will be asked to share details of their life and future plans. Each student will receive a Student of the Month certificate and a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
