As District Governor Kathleen Kanter visits Area clubs in the coming days, more information will be discussed about the 2023 District Conference. Mark your calendars for the conference which will be held on March 3-5, 2023, at the Salem Civic Center. More information will be coming regarding lodging, etc. Parking will not be an issue since there are 3,000 spaces available at no charge. Also, for those RV owners, there are limited spaces available with full hookups! You can bring your home away from home!
While initially scheduled to be held at The Omni Homestead, there were changes to the Homestead renovation schedule that led to the change in venue. It’s difficult to hold a conference when no meeting space is available due to being under renovation. After researching options within and outside our District it was determined the Salem Civic Center would be the best fit to meet our needs for the conference.
This year’s conference will look a bit different, not only in location but in scheduled events. The committee members are looking at the conference more as a convention and working to make this a memorable event. One sneak peek, Saturday will be more casual and a Service Saturday” with opportunities to be involved in several different hands-on service projects. Stay tuned! More information will be shared in the coming weeks!
