- Brief Description:
Rotary Club of Lexington Lunch, RCLL, has successfully used various media available to promote our club and increase awareness of our club in the community. A printed brochure was designed to inform about our club, our new charter, and our meeting times and location. The brochure is available in print and online, to increase visibility.
Our website; rotarylexlunchva.org informs on past and current activities, service projects, speakers and meeting information. It is constantly being updated weekly, if not more often to stay current. With its custom designed header by a RCLL member, we have a distinct look which will carry throughout future advertising strategies.
Since our charter in June 2016, we have been in the local paper, Lexington News-Gazette five times. Articles were written about our chartering, various vocational tours at VMI and Dabney Lancaster Community College, our member Lori Sadler being named Lexington Citizen of the Year, and our group launching a New Literacy Book Project for first graders benefiting the community school children in our area. Doug Harwood of the The Advocate, a local paper in Lexington, was a speaker for one of our meetings. Besides learning about his paper, Doug learned more about our Rotary club.
facebook.com/RCLexingtonLunchVA our Facebook page features our clubs meetings/activities, members participation in local and international charity/mission events and projects, fundraisers, Rotary, and our social get togethers.
RCLL members have also been seen on the TV station; WDBJ 7 for participation at the Community Table in Lexington (feeding the hungry) and volunteering with the Rockbridge Area Christmas Baskets distribution to needy citizens. - Participation of Club Members:
We have seven members on the Public Relations Committee (27% of membership). Each member of the committee concentrates on different aspects of PR strategy, promoting RCLL on media, print, web, Facebook and TV. - Resulting Benefits:
Since our charter in June 2016, RCLL has an increased awareness in Lexington and Rockbridge County. Our club’s public relations helped increase our membership by 18% with four new members. Through our members’ participation in local charity events (our Power of and Hour), the club was informed of a money-raising volunteering opportunity helping our club toward future charity donations. - Additional Material or Information #1:
