  • Brief Description:
Our social media sight address is 'Rotary Club of Rocky Mount' on Facebook. In a 28 day cycle we receive over 2,500 post engagements with an annual like share of 956.
Yearly our estimated total is 30K post engagements. Our facebook page has a post 365 days of the year not breaking for any holiday. We see holidays as a chance to engage a future Rotarian. Facebook post contain links to newspapers, online television media, photos with tagged pictures, daily quotes, messages from monthly Rotary themes and continuously promote Rotary and our missions. Polio Plus, international service, Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Informer, Object of Rotary, Rotary Motto, and individual club events/members are just a few postings that appear monthly.
  • Participation of Club Members:
ALL 45 club members are ask in meetings and through email request to share photos taken at events and through the community. Weekly Rotarian spotlights require that individual members be highlighted in a meeting and on social media. Paul Harris Fellow recipients, new members and our Rocky Mount board of chairpersons all contribute to posted photos. Our club Public Image chair maintains uploads and provides multitude of quotes and media postings.
  • Resulting Benefits:
Not only has our Facebook page become a thing of joy for our current members, it has increased traffic in providing new members. We have many likes on our page from surrounding Rotary Clubs too. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we have been most flattered as our post are copied to posting across Facebook by other Rotary group, civic groups, individuals, churches and odd places alike. This outreach has also created a great way for community members seeking answers about our programs and events to get on the spot answers with no waiting. When messenger activates, four Rotarians get the post and at least one is able to respond within the hour. This leaves no waiting for responses or confusion for any community focused event like our Christmas Parade or Independence Day Festival. Social media has provided an invaluable tool when rain/snow is in the forecast.
