- Brief Description:
Our website www.warrenrotary.com provides information for members and an inviting exposure of Rotary and our club to the public. A “Learn about Rotary” web form is on every page, and those who supply their email address receive an immediate emailed “thank you” and an invitation to visit our next club meeting. 3 days later they receive another automatic email briefly describing larger local and International Rotary projects, with another invitation to visit our next meeting. In 3 more days, they receive another invitation, this time discussing ongoing and recent service projects. Finally, 6 days later, inquirers receive a final invitation describing the fun we have at our meetings, while also raising “Happiness Dollars” for scholarships for local students. All messages are signed by our club president. The website is updated throughout every day with a feed from our Facebook page, and at least once a week with online publication of our club bulletin. Interesting articles from other Rotary sites, social media, and blogs are added to the site on occasion, and there are links on the site to the District site, the DACB site, the District Calendar, and to Rotary.org. We have all of our club documents (bylaws, etc.) available on the website, and the website versions are updated promptly whenever these documents change. We display a randomly selected member profile on our home page, for those who choose to participate.
- Participation of Club Members:
About 25% of our members have provided member profiles for the website. - Resulting Benefits:
One measure of the benefit is the exposure of Rotary and our club to the public. While a snapshot showing 1956 visits to our site in November 2015 and 2325 visits in December indicates good exposure, of more direct benefit is that dozens of local and nearby community members (based on their IP addresses) are finding our site and are visiting multiple pages on it.
