  • Change is in the air with Fall and with Rotary!    The District Conference will be “convention-like” with an emphasis on Service.   A problem with renovations at The Homestead actually became an opportunity to re-style the conference format.    After researching options inside and outside the District a suggestion to look at the Salem Civic Center was presented.    While attendees will stay off site, the Civic Center gives us the space to offer more service opportunities for members.  It will also lower the cost of registration and lodging as opposed to previous conferences.   And, if you have an RV, full hook up spaces are available to rent!
    So, why should you attend?
    • Opportunity to fellowship, make new friends, and reconnect with old friends.
    • Hands-on participation in service projects:
      • Constructing beds for children who don’t have beds in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
      • Participating in the “Sock Hop” and packaging socks for homeless shelters, etc. (and, yes, there is a band!)
      • Packing meals with “Rise Against Hunger”.  This is always popular with Interactors.
      • Walk for Rotary: a fundraiser for Polio Plus where participants raise money by acquiring pledges for walking/running in real time or virtually.
    • Refresh and reinvest in Rotary and have fun!
