  • Describe the Project, its location and its objectives: The Plains Area Day Care is a local child care facility located just outside the Town limits of Broadway, VA. This non-profit organization provides daily child care to area children based on need and income level. The Broadway-Timberville Rotary Club has assisted this facility over the years, and it provides a much needed service to families in the area. The Club is applying for matching grant funds to replace the aging roof on the facility.

  • Describe how the project will benefit the community and/or improve the lives of the less fortunate: This project will enhance the facilities of the day care and will provide a roof that will last for at least another 20-25 years, thus continuing to provide a safe and secure environment for the children that attend.

  • Describe the Rotarian hands-on activities in the project (i.e. non-financial participation): The new roof will be installed with 100% Rotarian labor.

In addition, once the project is underway, the Club will document the project with photographs, and submit to the local media.
