The DaCdb (District & Club Database) Web Site

  • The DaCdb is accessed through the District web page by clicking [Member Access] in the top right corner.
  • If you're having problems accessing the DaCdb then you should first contact your Club Secretary.  The Club Secretary is responsible for inputting you into the DaCdb and is the person who set your User Name and Password.
  • We strongly recommend the User Name should be your email address and the password should be your Rotary Member ID.  Your Member ID appears on the address label of the Rotarian magazine.  Do not enter any leading zeros.
  • If your Secretary is unsure what to do then email or call me (Rick Furr).  rfurr(at)vcalc(dot)net or 540-951-8219.

The Rotary International (Club Central) Web Site

  • If you're having problems accessing the Rotary International web site (rotary.org) then you will need to contact RI.  Their contact information is at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: The login for the DaCdb and Rotary International are not the same.

  • Your club secretary controls the login access to the DaCdb.  If you forget your login information at the DaCdb then you need to contact your club secretary.
  • Each member desiring access at RI needs to individually register.  If you forget your login information at RI then you need to contact Rotary International for help.  The contact information is at the bottom of this page.

HOW TO ENABLE RI DIRECT FOR YOUR CLUB

RI Direct allows the District Database (DaCdb) to upload club member information directly to the DaCdb.

Without this connection the information is sent to RI via eMail.

Also you need to enable RI Direct to use the RI Compare feature shown in the video above.

HOW TO SUBMIT ROTARY FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTIONS

This is one of the greatest solutions at the DaCdb for your Foundation Chair.

With this simple interface you can automatically generate a single form to submit
multiple contributions from your membership to the Foundation.

Simply access the form online, enter the amounts for each contributing member, print the form, put it in an envelope with a check, address the envelope to RI, and put it in the mail!

SLACK-TEAM COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE 21st CENTURY

One committee based tool we are using is "Slack", a web based team communication tool that provides one stop for all resources, including agendas, surveys, contracts, and documents gleaned from other districts.  It basically holds our "intelligence", is searchable and will be transferred to successor teams down the road.

WHAT IS THE COG?

The COG stands for the Council of Governors.

The COG shall function under direction and supervision of DG to offer advice and counsel on matters affecting district. Members of COG are advisory to DG and shall take no action which may in any way tend to dilute authority or responsibility of DG.

1.1 Membership of COG shall consist of DG as chair, DGE, DGN, DGNd, and all PDGs of RI who are members of clubs in D-7570.

1.2 COG shall meet at conference, once in the months of July & December, and from time to time upon call of DG to consider those matters DG shall bring to their attention.

1.3 COG shall recommend Secretary and Assistant Secretary to be elected at DLA.

DaCdb Technical Info

Some districts have their own COG committee.  Most districts use the DLT committee for this purpose.

In the DaCdb, In the blue bar under [REPORTS], the [VIEW the COGs] selection is a query of the DLT committee looking for the DG across all the Org Years.

If the district prefers to remove the deceased or terminated DG’s you would find the OrgYear they were the DG, and then edit the DLT committee and remove the person from being the DG.  The next query of the COG will then not have that person on the query.

Rotary - "Rule of 85"

The so-called "Rule of 85" is alive and well, although modified by the 2010 Council on Legislation. It is hard to find because it is not officially called the "Rule of 85", nor a type of Rotary membership ("Active" or "Honorary" are the only two) - it is merely a provision listed under "excused absences" in the Standard Rotary Club Constitution. It provides that if a members combined age and years of service equal 85 years or greater, they are at least age 65, and they ask to be excused, then they are excused. Additionally, they don't count against the club's attendance figures.

Example: Member John Doe will be 65 in June 2015 and he will have 20 years of service in October 2015. This qualifies him for exclusion from attendance starting in October 2015. This will not affect his or her membership status in any way, but will simply allow the Club Attendance Secretary to exclude him from the attendance percent if he does not make a meeting. However, if he attends a meeting he should be counted toward your overall percentage.
