Rotary Peace Centers alum gets big prize
Rotary Peace Centers alumnus and member of the Johnson City Morning Rotary Club Kiran Singh Sirah recently accepted a $10,000 prize on behalf of the International Storytelling Center as winner of the Peacebuilding Big Idea Challenge, an international competition sponsored by the Purdue Peace Project.    The winning entry was for the design of “Europa,” a state-of-the-art videogame that gamifies storytelling.   Watch the trailer here: https://on.rotary.org/30wUQQp

December 1, 1946 March 20, 2019 Mary Elizabeth Keely, 72, of Roanoke, Va., peacefully passed away with family by her side on March 20, 2019. She was born December 1, 1946, in Ashland, Ky. The daughter of late Paul and Harriett Lumbard. She is survived by her husband, Robert Keely; son, Mark D'Alessandro, wife Erica and grandson Carson of Arnold, Md.; son, Matthew D'Alessandro of Roanoke, son John D'Alessandro, wife Bernadette and grandson, Drew of Roanoke, step-son David Keely, wife Cheryl and granddaughter Christina, sister Sue Reynolds. She was a graduate of Marshall University...
