Rotary Club of Waynesboro Gives Vocational Awards to Incredible Community People in Action and Honors Waynesboro Public Schools

2020-21 Annual Vocational Awards program was held at the Wayne Theatre. Non-Rotarian Service Award, Jean Harris Award, and Rotarian Vocational Award recipients were announced. The Waynesboro Public Schools under leadership of Superintendent and Rotarian Dr. Jeff Cassell and Rick Wheeler were honored for service the community children and families during such a challenging year.

The 2020-21 annual scholarship program was held at the Historic Wayne theatre via hybrid meeting. 10 impressive students who have hearts of service were recognized and superpowers were revealed as we celebrated these superheroes. 9 graduating high school students and 1 adult student advancing her education were recognized.

John Stinnett, First Citizens Bank Service Manager and Bedford Rotarian, delivered 119 dictionaries to Liberty Middle School for the Bedford Elementary 4th grade class. All books had Rotary labels placed inside the front cover. A letter was included to encourage literacy with each box of dictionaries.

All books had Rotary labels placed inside the front cover and a copy of a letter describing Literacy being a Rotary Area of Focus. Major Gift Donation Accepted from Rotarians Skip and Lynn Lautenschlager Designated for PolioPlus

Past President/District Annual Fund Chair Gary Norris and Assistant Governor Tim Wilborne accepted a major gift donation from Past President/Rotarian Skip Lautenschlager and Rotarian Lynn Lautenschlager to the Rotary Foundation desginated for PolioPlus and in honor of Rotarians June and Bill Long and their many years of devotion to the PolioPlus program.
