Bedford Rotary Club presents a Service Above Self award to Centra Bedford employee

Donald Moore was recognized for his fast response to setting up a COVID-19 Response Structure in Bedford.

Donald Moore, Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital’s Manager of Environmental Services, was recognized recently by the Bedford Rotary Club, for his service above self ideals.  When COVID-19 began impacting the area, each hospital in the Centra system set up an Incident Command Structure (HICS) to prepare for positive cases. Donald took on the role of leading Bedford’s Incident Command and has gained the respect of the leadership at Bedford for his work. "He stepped out of his lane and questioned practices, organized supplies, and monitored processes related to COVID-19 on top of his normal role with Environmental Services," Centra leaders said. Donald’s initiative and willingness to lead during a difficult time is the reason the Bedford Rotary Club honored him with the Paul Harris Fellows award. Since he was named a Paul Harris Fellow, Donald has expressed an interest in Rotary and the Club has extended an invitation to join.
