Staunton Rotary Club Press Release: Staunton Rotary club gives out grants to local nonprofits. Staunton Rotary Club’s Community Grants Committee awarded grants to the organizations serving the greater Augusta County community. The organizations will be recognized at the club meeting July 19 at noon at the Federated Auto Training Center on Statler Boulevard. Representatives from each organization will provide a 2 minute overview of the program that the grant will be funding. Our first president was Marshall J. Payne, M.D.. The original 23 members were leaders in local banking, legal, insurance, medical, newspaper, mercantile, and coal mine ownership circles. Today the club has over 90 members that are engaged and active in the Staunton community. Staunton Rotary Club is part of Rotary International which is 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.
