    During this award year our community service work resulted in:
    • Increased awareness of Rotary as an active community partner.
    • Opportunities for our members to be personally involved.
    • Growth and leadership opportunities for young people.
    • Young people learn about different cultures through an exchange of experiences a high-school student from Peru that we hosted (in partnership 6 mo. each club with the Rotary Club of Front Royal).
    • Hope based on our commitment (MOU with E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School) to support healthy children via playground enhancements
    • More work options for nearly sixty people with disabilities (see picture below of blue shirt group)
    • Three young adults have financial support for the college education.
    • Medical prescriptions for uninsured working poor (up to 1050 people).
    • A cleaner stretch of highway through Linden, VA
    • New trees provide esthetic beauty and future shade at Linden Rotary Park & playground.
    • Minimum of 300 hot meals served/delivered to hungry people with very limited income and/or mobility.
    • Unidentifiable Beneficiaries of 37,000 meals packaged and 70,000 meals to be packaged in March 2013 distributed by Stop Hunger Now which feeds the most needy (shortages of food levels, disaster relief, , in collaboration with Area 1 Rotary and Interact clubs, and distributed to needed people via Stop Hunger Now
