  • Resulting Benefits:
Two major fundraisers (OSD/ODAC) generated $70,000.00 to distribute to civic, community and charitable organizations for worthy projects identified in the grant application process. A majority of the funds are used to benefit the local community; however, $10,000.00 was allocated for RI’s Polio Campaign with an additional $10,000.00 for other international projects. These fundraisers have been designed to include participation by other interested Rotary Clubs and the Rotaract and Interact Clubs in our area, and other community organizations such as Scouts, so that those organizations can also benefit. We partner with local government to make them truly premier community events. OSD benefits the vendors and exhibitors who participate by giving them a well-attended venue to offer their unique products for sale, and provides entertainment for individuals and families. The ODAC tournament benefits the teams participating and their fans, as well as those who enjoy attending this sporting event. Both result in commercial benefit to the area from restaurant and hotel sales.

We benefit families and individuals in need through in kind and monetary contributions, encourage scholarship and community service, enhance the environment, and prepare to cope with disasters. By fulfilling our motto “Service Above Self” in these many ways, we are proud to show our fellow citizens, not by words, but by example, that it should be an ordinary thing to serve the local community and the world for no personal gain other than the joy of participating with our fellow Club members and community members in these projects.
