Governor's Corner

June, the last month of the Rotary year.

June, Rotary Fellowship Month. A Rotary Fellowship is a group of Rotarians who share an interest in a hobby or profession. Fellowships range broadly from Beer to Bowling and from Water Polo to Whiskey. It wouldn't be Rotary without appreciation of fine alcohols: and yes, there IS a Wine Fellowship.

I am a member of two fellowships: Motorcyding and Golf. Being a member of these fellowships has introduced me to Rotarians from all of the world. Last September, I played golf with Rotarians from the Netherlands, Turkey and Brazil.

If you are not already a member of a Rotary Fellowship, I hope you will explore the opportunity. Broadening your network of friends and associates in Rotary increases your ability to serve others and enriches your own experience as a Rotarian. With one month left to go in this Rotary year, I encourage you and your club to finish up those final goals you had for this year.

Together we have accomplished much but there is much left to do. Many of you will be working on projects and fundraisers in this final month. The work we do as Rotarians is meaningful and important.

Thank you for serving with Lannette and I this Rotary year and for "Being the Inspiration".

George Karnes
District Governor
2018-2019
