SPRING IS HERE!

It is with great excitement that I write this May article for the Rotary Informer. As I have traveled up and down the district, I have had the pleasure of watching the beauty of Western Virginia and Northeast Tennessee “spring” back to life. I love this time of year. Seeing the lilies bloom and Red Buds blossom is always an exhilarating event that makes me feel young again.

Speaking of youth, May happens to be “Rotary Youth Service Month.” I could not be more proud of how we support the youth of our district through Rotary Programs, and around the world through the work that we do. We sponsor dozens of Interact Clubs, our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Rotary Youth Exchange. I hope your club is fully participating in these wonderful opportunities.

Globally, most of our projects impact youth in a positive way. Our number one goal is eradicating polio and, while there are still obstacles, I know we will reach this historic milestone. Through Global Grants, we bring clean water and education to children we will never meet in places we may not visit, but the Rotarians of District 7570 are there working to make life better for those who need it.

Thank you for all that you do to “Be the Inspiration.”
